Daily Violence, 2010

Payal Kapadia (Director, Editor) & Stuart Dacosta (Camera)
Mumbai, India
2010 Winner: Best in Category

Comment Film Info & Credits
This film is about daily commute in the Mumbai local trains. Overcrowding has made these trains a dangerous death trap for passengers (about 5 million daily) traveling in them. Deaths occur because people fall out of the trains as there are no doors, or get electrocuted while sitting on the roof of the trains. Daily train travel has become an aggressive activity where people have no respect for fellow travelers, simply because of the conditions they face every day. 'Daily Violence'is a look at this behavior.
